About Confluere

Confluere is a publicity alliance of activists, artists, and others committed to progressive social change through public education, mobilization, and artistic expression. Basically, we are a "speaker's bureau" without the bureau, meaning that each speaker/performer books her or his own gigs, but we chose to share our resources and contacts in order to reach a broader audience.

Confluere was founded in June 2002 by Emi Koyama and her friends. Initial participants were Emi, Diana Courvant, Thea Hillman, Leslie Bull, Nomy Lamm, and Qwo-Li Driskill. We're currently working on re-launching Confluere in time for the 2003-04 academic year. New Confluere will add several new voices and web features.
